Disney Parks Live Entertainment Internship

A limited selection of artwork from Disney Parks Live Entertainment’s Spring 2019 Professional Internship program. As a crucial part of bringing the magic to life, Disney Parks Live Entertainment designs interactive experiences including character meet and greets, stage shows, and special events on and off Disney properties worldwide. Collaborating with the graphic designers, illustrators, and art directors within the team professional interns participate directly in the design and installation process, in addition to receiving training in Disney property functions.

One of many front entrance and park banners celebrating “The Festival of the Lion King” displayed at the front of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Responsibilities included designing Africa-inspired patterns to be used interchangeably while creating the park banner set (see texture within each “patch”). They were utilized by DPLE illustrator and graphic designer, Hannah Leber, who is responsible for the overall design and typography.

Front entrance banner (one of a set of vertical and horizontal banners displayed throughout the park) celebrating Party for the Planet. Designed based on previous Party for the Planet banners, re-purposing existing assets typically provided within a style guide including logos, patterns, and colors, provided by several departments within the Disney creative team. Fabricated environment for Disney’s new “Fancy Nancy” meet and greet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Responsibilities for this collaborative project included matte painting for flowers, ribbons, and banners based on the environment within the show. Art direction provided by Laura Freeman.
